About Peter E. Barfoot

Peter Barfoot’s life journey began on dairy farms, followed by a decade in retail furniture and floorcovering sales in Melbourne, including roles with Myer Stores and managing two country stores. His career then transitioned into media, where he served as editor of a country newspaper, before responding to a call into full-time ministry.

In 1975, Peter moved to Queensland, where he served as Assistant Pastor under Pastor Ian Munro at the Full Gospel Church in Brisbane. He later assisted Pastor Clark Taylor at the Christian Outreach Centre in West End, Brisbane, where he was instrumental in the launch of the New Way of Living magazine.

In 1980, Peter and Lorraine felt called to plant a church in Redland City, founding Ormiston Christian Faith Church. Over the next 33 years, they pastored the church, purchasing land and building a two-story church and manse. Peter also ministered internationally, traveling to the UK, Asia, and many other nations, often with Lorraine by his side. Alongside his pastoral work, Peter authored three books, contributed to numerous magazines, and wrote hundreds of articles, sharing his heart and teaching globally.

Peter is known for his apostolic calling and healing ministry, a gift he received through a renowned American evangelist. His teachings and healing ministry have impacted countless lives. In 2010, after battling severe bronchitis, Peter began creating art, producing around 300 paintings, many of which were shared on social media. He was later healed of this condition, a testimony to the power of God’s healing grace.

Peter and Lorraine are proud parents of four children—Deb, Paul, Cathy, and Christy—all of whom are strong in their faith and serve the Lord in various capacities. Their son Paul now leads Ormiston Christian Faith Church, continuing the legacy of strong biblical teaching and spiritual growth established by his parents. Peter and Lorraine, married for 62 years, share a deep commitment to family, with strong connections to their children and grandchildren.

Lorraine, a woman of great spiritual depth, ministers with a prophetic gift, encouraging and building up the body of Christ. Together, Peter and Lorraine regard their ministry as the highest privilege, with a shared vision to preach the Gospel, reach the lost, and strengthen believers through sound Bible teaching and discipleship.

Their passion for reaching the lost and equipping believers remains the heartbeat of their ministry, as they continue to serve God faithfully and lead others into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Ministry

In 1991, after two decades of ministry in Asia, the Lord called us to England for the first time. During our stay, a dear friend took us to a farmhouse in Dorset to meet a Spirit filled leader within the Church of England. After the initial introductions, we sat down to enjoy a cup of tea and the beloved English digestive biscuits. It was then that the Reverend Doctor asked me to share a bit about my background in ministry.

Before I could finish, I noticed an air of impatience and restlessness in him. Though I had not spoken for long, I decided to pause, sensing the moment was significant. To my surprise, he then uttered an involuntary prophecy, the kind that carries the most authenticity. In that prophecy, God’s stamp of approval was placed upon me, affirming my calling as a minister sent to England by the Lord. The words were not only accurate but also carried the same power as a similar prophecy delivered a week earlier by a visiting American minister back in Brisbane. As scripture affirms, “In the mouths of two or three witnesses shall all things be established.”

A few days later, the Reverend Doctor, recognising the weight of his words, came to the house where I was scheduled to preach. I believe he sought reassurance, perhaps concerned that he had unknowingly encouraged a wild, untested preacher. However, during that first meeting, a remarkable event occurred: oil flowed from the palms of a longtime friend’s hands, a supernatural sign confirming that God had indeed sent us. With this undeniable evidence, any lingering doubts in the Reverend Doctor’s mind were dispelled, and my ministry in England began in earnest.
