“It works for me…” The 21st century has already produced a whole new range of DIY products in flat-pack form, all of which include the essential Allen key and screws, plus the written step-by-step assembly instructions.
No less progressive, the DIY pastor likewise presents his message from the pulpit each Sunday. Enthused church members then take it away in flat-pack form (so to speak), along with the essential sermon key and screws, and of course “easy to follow” assembly instructions in the form of notes jotted down.
They then spend the rest of what began as a promising week trying to follow the instructions, using the vital sermon key and the illustration screws to put together the product that was presented from the pulpit. Hmmm. Seemed so easy when the pastor preached it, and the notes are now as puzzling as they would be to an Aussie wending his way out through the endless maze of an IKEA Superstore.
