The True Confession of a Long-time Do Gooder

“So then after the Lord had spoken to them, he was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following.” (Mark 16:19-20)

Authority and Power go hand in hand. We need to know when to release God’s power by faith when healing the sick and when to speak with command authority when dealing with demonic oppression. My Vision Statement –what I aim to see — is God’s kingdom come and His will done on earth as in heaven. My Mission Statement — my modus operandi — is that I have been anointed by God to go about doing good and to heal all who are oppressed by the devil.

Which, in brief, makes me a Do Gooder. An anointed one, with a mind in heaven and a heart in hands, but nonetheless a Do Gooder. So, there you have it, as the late Clark Taylor would say. Matthew 6:10 and Acts 10:38 together framing a Vision Statement and a Mission Statement: the first my main desire and the second what I am doing to make it happen.

Jesus Christ did many miracles during his ministry that were not recorded — half with his hands and half with his words. Likewise, we need to not only have God’s healing people through our outstretched hands of faith, but also His authority through clearly spoken words of authority. Both in his Name, i.e. through who and what he was and all that his name represents.

Power and authority worked through the hands and words of Jesus and still does through those who are determined to see that God’s will is done “on earth as it is in heaven” and do not mind being called happy-clappy do gooders!

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) Not only through answered prayers from heaven but also through the hands and voices of those who do his works on earth.
