The One True God of Israel and the Church

There are no extra-biblical revelations these days — only prophetic insights from the Bible and prophecies that line up with them. “God who at many times and in many ways spoke unto our forefathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us through His Son…”

(Hebrews 1:1) In the biblical sense, Jesus was God’s last word The spiritual gift of prophecy continues, and it builds up the church, which is why Paul the Apostle urges believers to desire it (1 Corinthians 14:1).

We may think that we know the Bible because we’ve read it so many times, but when a truth leaps off the page and into our heart, then we realise that we had known it only with our minds. The Bible itself is a revelation! The Christian Faith is experiential! For Christ to be known we must experience him — intellect cannot get its head around this!

The True God not only exists but is interactive with those who seek Him diligently (Hebrews 11:6). Anyone can serve a god that demands much and promises nirvana but delivers passivity, fatalism or nothing. But our God interacts with His people by responding to their persistent prayers. He supplies their needs, and helps them through their problems. This God we know and serve. He revealed Himself in the Bible and through His Son, who is “the image of the invisible God” — the portrayal of that God in his attitudes and actions.

The One True God has revealed His nature, attributes and character in the person of His perfect Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. The promises of the True God are worth so much more than anything in the world, and they come in sixty-six books under one cover. We know it as The Bible! It is a book of promises! All glory to the only True God and praise to His living only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ!
