Christians do not expect their pastors to confront and denounce national leaders for their wrongs because the role of a shepherd is essentially to care and protect.
Standing up and speaking without fear or favour, is the province of prophets. Some Bible-based commentators in the media are what we might call secular prophets — and good for them! I expect that when pressed harder by current events, Christian prophets will do likewise.
False prophets in the media are quick to defend their lefty political masters. We are in need of modern-day Elijahs, who will appear out of nowhere and speak out against the system, as their namesake did against the Jezebel system. And maybe then disappear from sight while the judgements pronounced upon wayward societies become at first apparent and then undeniable.
Today’s manhood, emasculated by the Jezebel woke system, will, I expect, be more than ready to ‘throw that woman out the window’ when the time comes. (Figuratively speaking, of course.) Neither will the escaping Ahabs dodge ‘bows drawn and arrows fired at random’ (1 Kings 22:34).
Although we live in troubled times, believers in Jesus remain internally untroubled, due to the fact that our peace comes from the Lord Jesus and cannot be taken away by what goes on in the world around us. So, whether we pray and stay or rise in surprise is God’s call; we need only remain faithful.
