While ministering in Zurich, Switzerland twelve years ago, the Lord spoke to my heart, telling me that He was going to keep me home for some time and then send me out with a fresh anointing. After returning home to Australia, I was visiting my brother’s church in Melbourne, and an evangelist unknown to me came to where I was seated and began prophesying over me with the words: “The Lord is going to keep you home for a season and he will then send you out again.” Much the same as the Lord had told me in Zurich.
When I looked up into the man’s face, I saw Jesus looking at me through his eyes. They were indescribably loving as his face morphed (for want of a better word) through the evangelist’s face. I had not seen that before and have not since. It was unforgettable! That prophecy has now been at work for six years and maybe about to end.
Interpretation is everything. When you receive one, sort it out from what others fear for you and what the Lord is assuring you.
The Lord may confirm to us what we already know, or inform us about things we don’t know — both are his prerogative; and after all, Lord does mean Master.
A prophet named Agabus warned the Apostle Paul that tough times awaited him in Jerusalem, but Paul knew that already. A prophecy is a revelation that informs us as to how the Lord sees our situation, and is comforting.
Yet, the prophecy of Agabus and those spoken over Paul by others “in every town” were repeated warnings that prepared Paul for an upcoming danger about which he was well aware, and as such were accepted by the apostle as confirmations and even assurances, rather than warnings.
So, sort through those prophecies spoken over you by credible ministries over the years, and apply them to your present situation.
