Perception Matters

God created Time so that from it He could extract a people who would respond to His love by choosing to love Him in return. He knew from the beginning who would respond and who would not, and as events move inexorably toward the fulfillment of Zechariah chapter 12 and other Bible texts, a divide is becoming increasingly apparent. Not only in disasters worldwide and world politics but significantly, in Christianity.

Those Christians whose views are not bible based will side more with Israel’s enemies. Not that the Israelis don’t make mistakes. Like everyone else they too fall short of God’s best. However, what they have going for them is that they are “beloved for the fathers’ sake,” as Paul the Apostle put it — loved by God because of His covenant promise to Abraham and confirmed with Isaac and Jacob.

Thousands of years have passed since then but “a day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” He put a Master Plan in process, and it has been working through Time for thousands of years. This process appears to have gathered speed in recent years, but what we see is not Time itself speeding up but really events multiplying in Time.

Which is why perception is needed for Christians to distinguish between the world view of events in Time and God’s view of them from Eternity. “Whatever will be, will be” may be true for those for whom Eternity means nothing, but Time was set in motion to allow some to believe in God and in Jesus, and for others to not believe.

God knew from the beginning who would and who would not and set Time in motion to sort one from the other.

God also placed His chosen people, the Hebrew people (known as Jews) in the Middle East. He did so, knowing beforehand the hatred that His blessing on them would attract down through Time. What we are now seeing has been going on throughout history, and the modern Nation State of Israel is the site of what is to be the Great Dénouement, the final revealing, of those who blessed the “seed” –descendants of Abraham — and so are blessed and those who cursed them and so are cursed. Each result is not due to God acting capriciously or randomly but is self-generated and self-maintained.

The End will not be seen elsewhere around the globe but in Israel and as recorded in the Book of Ezekiel, chapter 38. The juggle of world politics and chronic disease of antisemitism notwithstanding.

Ground Zero will be the Mount of Olives, onto which the Lord Jesus will descend when he arrives to deliver his people and begin his reign as “The King of the Jews” — as ‘predicted’ in the enigmatic sign ordered be placed over the crucified Jesus by Pontius Pilate.

The Eternal is infinitely patient in Time, but no one should mistake His long-suffering for disinterest or neglect (1 Peter 3:20; 2 Peter 3:9 & 3:15). Where we will be eternally — heaven or Hell — will be the result of our own choice. Hell was prepared for the devil and his [fallen] angels, and humans who end up with them will result from the choice they made during their lifetime. So, stop wasting Time and surrender your life to Jesus — not “tomorrow” or “sometime” or “when I’m ready” but now! Perception matters because it motivates!
