Our Fresh From Heaven Daily Bread

Matthew 8:16-17 proves that in Christ’s atonement the healing promised us in Isaiah 53:5, was “fulfilled” physically. Every healing listed in Matthew chapter 8 is physical, not just spiritual. Peter the apostle saw Isaiah 53:5 as accomplished in Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:24).

When fulfilled, prophecies are facts, so we should not “stand on them” as future promises but instead claim them as present facts!

There’s no room for doubt, according to the Lord’s Prayer, which states, “Give us this day our daily bread…” Note, “this day,” not someday! Today, not “when it is God will”! Jesus said, “Healing is the children’s bread,” In the wilderness, the manna that God provided was gathered daily. In the minds of those who went out and gathered it early in the morning, there was no doubt that it had fallen overnight (and twice the amount Friday evenings).

Jesus taught, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your hearing.” There’s no certainty in the words “someday” and “whenever” but in “this day” there is certainly! Uncertainty allows a way for doubt to enter the mind and with it enters unbelief.

The part of the prayer that reads, “Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven” will be realized fully only after Jesus returns and God’s will on earth and heaven becomes one. Until then, our aim is to unite Earth and Heaven whenever opportunities appear. Divine healing is never “not yet”, it is always “now” when we claim it by faith.

For some people, the largest room in the house is not the Room for Improvement but the Room for Excuses. (I’ll not linger on this point by listing the many reasons why such things as hidden sin or lack of forgiveness hinder us from receiving the Lord’s healing power.)

Advanced years bring with them physical challenges, but God’s will to heal is never just theoretical — it is also accessible! In the lives of elderly people. Physical healing, — whether by God or through physicians — is often a life-or-death matter. But cheer up– the elderly Caleb asked Joshua: “Give me my [promised] mountain!” God’s faith matures in our experience but in itself never changes but remains the same. “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”

Most days I pray, “Lord, give me this day my daily bread’ and add to it the Lord’s words “Healing is the children’s bread.” If you are a child of God, then healing is yours through faith in Jesus Christ and his sufferings in Pilate’s Judgement Hall and his death on the Cross. Healing is yours for the asking in the moment that you not only believe but also receive it by faith! (Mark 11:20-23) Healing is yours through the Name of Jesus! (Remember that faith is a noun: a naming word, and that believing is a verb: a doing word!) Enjoy your “daily bread” from Heaven, which is Jesus, the Bread of Life!
