Memories intrude from the past and fears invade from the future. For some people, yesterday is too hard to forget and for others tomorrow is too unpredictable to even think about. For the first-mentioned, yesterday is too close, and for the second-mentioned, tomorrow is too far. Most people live, uneasily, between the two.
God says: “When the time came, I listened to you, and when you needed help, I came to save you. That time has now come. This is the day for you to be saved.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
The principle of Time + Growth + Opportunity is laid out in Acts 7:17: “But when the time of the promise drew near, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and were multiplied in Egypt.” Acts 7:17.
Today is always God’s Day, and since you are reading this, it’s Your Time to accept Jesus so that God can forgive you. Jesus died on the Cross for that reason. Pray sincerely with heartfelt sorrow and God will forgive your sins. He not only forgives but also forgets. He will give you faith for future needs as they arise, and peace of heart and mind as soon as you place your life in His safe hands (John 10:28).
As Michael Bryant* says: “Your future is not out there — your future is in here [pointing to his heart].” Meaning: your future is in your faith. But you need to decide Now, Today, because Yesterday has gone, and Tomorrow may be too late! Jesus could come tonight. You may know this, but maybe you should stop thinking and start talking — while you’ve still time. In some situations, “A miss is as good as a mile” but not if Jesus were to come while you were still dithering!
