National Awakening and Renewal

The reason why corruption at the top is tolerated by the general public in Western society and seeps down may be due to the increasingly porous morality of society generally. By this I mean that if society itself corrupts, why would voters condemn their political leaders for doing on a large scale what they themselves are doing on a small one?

Winston Churchill once said that democracy is the worst system of government, but that it is better than any other in the world. But how long can a democracy last in which the voice of the fool has equal value to that of the wise?

When a nation wakes up spiritually and turns back to God its pores are flooded with spiritual and moral integrity and as a result is cleansed through and through. But there’s not much hope for a nation whose pores have become saturated with lust and greed but its values are almost non-existent.

Good on all those, whether Christian or non-Christian, who work hard to better themselves, their families, and their nation’s economy. But the much needed cleansing of our society can only come as a result of a spiritual awakening, followed by a renewal, the origin of which will be personal spiritual renewal. This nationwide awakening will come only after we have acknowledged the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Saviour.
