The Spirit of the Lord once inspired me to prophesy that He was about to overthrow a government through the ballot box, democratically. I did so, even though it seemed impossible, but God did it regardless, two weeks later, just as He had said He would.
God wants His people to speak as His Son spoke — in absolute faith by the power of the Holy Spirit. Externals are not the problem — the problem is inner self-doubt. “Is it really possible” you ask, “that God wants me to speak life into my family?” Your mind says yes but your heart doubts that it’s possible.
Hear this: the greatest problem you are likely to face in life will not be the negative things people say about you or the way they treat you, but whether your faith is deep-seated and strong enough to deny any possibility of those things coming to pass. If so, it will be the words of faith that you built into your heart through constant repetition, which has made God’s word inseparable from your thoughts, your attitude, and your entire outlook on life.
God wants you to become a Gibraltar-like fortress of faith, which your enemies see as impregnable. In Christ you are the mountain that no thing and no one can move. This was Joshua’s secret. If Joshua 1:8 reads like a verse of God-prompted self-help — that’s because it is!
Joshua’s meditation (repetitious self-quoting of scripture) opened the way for him to receive God’s promises to him. His meditation made his way prosperous and brought him good success. God will do the same for you through your own mouth if you stop reacting negatively against the things said against you and instead (like Joshua) start muttering to yourself God’s promises, proactively, concerning the things that Jesus has promised to do for you!
As a former soldier in a signals regiment, I had to accept the boring discipline of Voice Procedure, which dictates exactly what is to be said and not said over the air. We practised Voice Procedure every time we came together. Not only the words to say but how to say them, and say them with the same inflection in our voices, so the enemy could not mark a difference and track the movement of our regiment. Joshua learned and practised the Bible version until he repeated what the LORD had said — to the letter!
Confession is simply saying exactly what God has said, or in real time, what He is saying to your heart, and learning to do it to the letter is obligatory, which in the Army means Must!
