How to Deal with Spiders

I decided to paint some Poplar trees, so I searched online and located an image of some from a country town, which has along an entry road. Soon after, an advertisement for “The Best Motel” in that town appeared on my Facebook page. Another time, while searching for a book, online “spiders” or “bots” (short for robots) went to work.

During our online searches, these programmed “bots” observe our entries, assess our likes, anticipate our needs, and build profiles that advertisers then target. “Googlebot” is one of the better-known “spiders” — some of which have intrusive spiritual counterparts.

Demons are Satan’s “bots” They observe interests, assess those most liked by tempted searchers, and suggest thoughts that target their desires. The conscious mind gathers and processes information, and the heart stores thoughts that the mind returns to increasingly. These thoughts remain in the unconscious mind and appear in dreams and also in daydreams. The more we dwell on them, the more persistent and insistent they become.

God blesses those who endure temptation (James 1:12). He does not tempt us; we are drawn away by our own desires. The thoughts of the heart then become the words of the mouth. “Out of the abundance (surplus) of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45)

Sinful acts have their origin in sinful thoughts (Matthew 12:34, 35 & 15:11, 18-20). The untamed, unruly tongue “set on fire by hell” can change the whole course of nature (James 3:6). Remember this when doing online searches because in the process your interests are being observed by angels and noted by demons.

Someone has said that integrity is what we dwell on when no one else is watching. Spiritual entities are certainly observing – and demonic “spiders” do not have our best interests at heart. Repentance of any such secret sins, brings God’s forgiveness and restores holiness (spiritual cleanliness).

The “horse” and its “rider” in Exodus 15:1, 21 picture a demonic “rider” on a “horse” of unconfessed sins or reactive emotional issues. There’s no point in unseating the demonic “rider” if the “horse” problem is not addressed and resolved. The “rider” will simply “remount”. Matthew 12:43-45) (See my blog “The Tenant from Hell Returns.”)

First there’s the toehold, then the foothold, and in time the stronghold. The toehold is provided by a prurient interest in things known to the mind as sinful. The foothold is gained from a growing familiarity with those things. The stronghold comes when those thoughts combine and then control.

In the absence of the protective shield of faith, the enemy’s fiery arrows of accusation penetrate and wound the heart (Ephesians 6:16). But heartfelt confession of personal sin to God will result in His instant forgiveness and freedom! (Isaiah 10:27) The bondage will be broken off by the blessing.

Historically, Isaiah 10:27 applies to the Assyrian oppressors of the Jews. In principle, it also applies to a dominant sin that through discouragement has brought deep doubt and despair. However, through spiritual growth and developed strength, the bondage can be broken off by the indwelling blessing, to the point where demonic “yokes” of bondage, which began with the intrusion and gradual control of those spiritual “bots” — those demonic “spider” bondages will be not just broken off for now but totally destroyed forever.

If this has touched you personally, be assured that you do not have to live with demonic “bots” — Jesus through his shed blood on the Cross freed you from them, they have no right to hold onto you Come to the Saviour today! Ask God to forgive you in the Name of Jesus. The Lord will fill you with the Holy Spirit, so that you will not only be freed but also live free! (Galatians 5:1)
