How Not to Wreck a Minister

I do not know how or why it is that while ministering along a line of people God’s power is suddenly present in a mighty way, and one or two or more are healed or baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Thereafter that same anointing of power comes upon others along the line with amazing results. I’ve given up on trying to work this out, but can say that this surge, this sudden release of power, does not last long. Those who respond to it by opening their hearts to receive or surge forward quickly are often healed or filled on the spot.

Those who delay, who think twice, often miss their opportunity. What I do know is that the human body is unable to continue this ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit due to its physical strength being depleted. This much the same way as happens after a surge of adrenaline is released from the kidneys to strengthen the body in response to sudden threat or danger.

Which is why those who minister the power of the Spirit of God are afterward left pretty much helpless physically. So church members should refrain from seeking the minister’s views on this, that or the other as soon as the meeting ends. Or at least until after the minister has had a cup of coffee and a slice of cream cake! Even then, I suggest that you save your views on Pre-Mid, Mid-Trib or Post-Trib Bible Prophecy for a time more suitable (if there is one).

Bottom Line: The short flow of the power of the Spirit of God presents a good case for a speedy response by those in need of healing when His presence is evident suddenly but fleetingly. It may be not that God wants it that way but rather that He cares as much for the one ministering as those receiving ministry.
