Prayer can prevent bad things from happening. It’s often said that there’s power in prayer, but that isn’t so. The power is rather in God’s response to heartfelt prayers of faith. So, don’t wait for a wake-up call but instead pray fervently for your safety, and that of your family and friends! Your certainty of God’s protection will enable you to sleep soundly at night (Psalm 4:8) and wake up safely in the morning (Psalm 5:3). God “never slumbers nor sleeps” and always ‘picks up’ when we pray. He listens fully — and He responds!
