Finding Your Way in the Will of God

Finding your own way in life can be difficult and it can be also hard to find your way in the will of God: bring your purpose and plan into line with God’s purpose and plan for your life (Romans 1:10 & 15:32, NKJV). Doing so successfully involves finding the right balance between God’s sovereignty and your responsibility; between what God does for you and what you need to do yourself. Wondering how to find your way in the will of God? These questions and answers will prove helpful:

Question: Can I use personal prophetic words received as weapons of spiritual warfare?

Answer: Personal prophecy can be a useful “weapon” (1 Timothy 1:18). But don’t just live in hope for the prophecies you received but ‘war’ by them! If God said that you would make it, you will! But you will need to cooperate with them. Jesus did during his three years of ministry. For example, he kept away from the city of Jerusalem to avoid being arrested before God’s time for that to take place.

Question: Should I allow others to interpret what the Holy Spirit is saying to me?

Answer: The apostle Paul went “bound in the spirit” to Jerusalem (Acts 20:22). If you are “bound” you are a captive. Paul was captive to the will of God. The prophetic voice “in every city” along the way confirmed that dangers lay ahead (Acts 20:23). Paul did not let them stop him (See 2 Kings 2:3, 5). What others say prophetically needs to be interpreted in the light of what God has already told you — even if they’re prophets. (Acts 21:4,11)

Question: Is it possible to be guided spiritually to the detriment of my physical well-being?

Answer: Paul did not see his Divine call and his civil rights as mutually exclusive (Acts 22:22-29). The Jews were his chief persecutors at the time. Why let the Romans punish him to no good purpose? Jesus would not have been glorified in him being flogged.

Question: Should I use natural wisdom to overcome worldly forces that join in opposition to me?
