When the tribe of Judah captured Adoni-Bezek (Lord of Lightning) they did what he had done to others — they chopped off both of his thumbs and his big toes. He lost his grip on the handle of his sword and his spring for a quick start. Extreme? It sure was!
This happened thousands of years ago. Lord Flash had done the same thing to seventy kings he had defeated, and had put them under his table and fed them with food scraps!
The punishment for him was not “an eye for an eye” but thumbs for thumbs and toes for toes. Lord Flash would not have been the same without the strong grip and quick spring that had once been his boast.
It doesn’t take much to render Christians harmless: just remove their grip on “the sword of the Spirit” and the spring out of their step and they lose their fighting ability and have to live on scraps. It’s time to tighten our grip on the Word of God and ready our spring for The Final Event!
When the tribe of Judah captured Adoni-bezek (Lord of Lightning) they did what he had done to others: chopped off his thumbs and big toes. No more grip on the handle of a sword or spring in the big toes for a quick start. Extreme? Certainly. This happened long ago in biblical antiquity.
Lord Flash had done that to seventy kings he defeated and then put them under his table and fed them with scraps. No more zap. God’s punishment on him was “a thumb for a thumb and a toe for toe. He lost the flash that his name boasted to one and all. Hard to light up a room while feeding on unwanted scraps under a table.
Likewise, it doesn’t take much to render Christians harmless: just (a) remove their ability to grip “the sword of the Spirit” and (b) take the victory spring out of their step. It’s time to tighten our grip on the word of God and prepare to spring off to a good start in the Final Event. No Christian wants to live out of sight, humiliated under your enemy’s contempt, while feeding on scraps of leftovers. We are Overcomers, not Undergoers!
