Don’t Let the Past Ruin Your Future

We have the privilege of sharing the Good News message of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. We don’t need to preach a Bad News message to those who are not yet saved, because they already know it.

I have conducted enough funeral services to know how those in attendance feel as they come to grips with their mortality and their inevitable and inescapable appointment with death. “Everyone has a one-time appointment to die — then comes the judgement…” (Hebrews 9:27) God’s forgiveness through Jesus has enabled everyone to live without the fear of death and the certainty of God’s judgement.

The tragedy is that salvation — so costly bought and so freely offered — remains either unknown or unappreciated. What more could God have done than He did in giving His Son to die for the sins of the world? The Good News is that there’s time for those who haven’t yet accepted Jesus as Saviour and acknowledged him as Lord to do so.

Beats me why anyone would continue to wrestle with the certainty of God’s future judgement, when it’s possible to enjoy loving acceptance with Him now through Jesus His Son.
