God asked the prophet Ezekiel this question. The fact that Israel has been restored as a modern nation-state since 1948 is proof positive that its “bones” are very much alive!
The prophet Elisha’s bones retained their revival power years after he was dead and buried. It has well been said that “revival was in his bones”! As Luke 20:38 informs us: “God is not the God of the dead but of the living: for all live unto him.”
I will never forget the outpouring of the Spirit of God in Sabah, East Malaysia, in November 1985, and the seven-year-long revival that it introduced. The Lord introduced it as I spoke but it was the result of many years of prayer by faithful Sabahan Christians — led by Trevor White, a humble missionary who had lived the life of Christ for decades in what was formerly known as British North Borneo.
Trevor White prayed, eyes closed, each time I preached, and later sat, face aglow, while the Lord Jesus healed people. Just before the close of the final night’s meeting the Spirit of God entered the church like a cyclonic wind! Heaven ‘blew in’ unexpectedly and unforgettably that memorable evening!
God answered that godly man’s decades of prayer that night! God hears and records our every prayer and answers them at the appropriate time. The time for the long-promised national revival here in Australia may be nearer than we think! A national downpour is fast approaching when The Land Down Under will be known as The Land of Wonder!
“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, those who are chosen] according to his divine purpose.” (Romans 8:28) Our accumulated prayers and God’s sovereign timing “work together”– the Lord “working with us” and confirming the words that we preach with “signs following” (Mark 16:20). This English word synergy has its origin in a NT Greek word which describes interactive and constructive collaboration.
The LORD’S answer to the question “Can these bones live?” is seen in what He does to prove to us that He not only could back then but does so still today — unquestionably!
Can what you think is long dead in your life come back to life? You now know God’s answer to the question!
