Beyond AI into UI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the Big Thing at the moment, but since it’s just the sum of human knowledge gained over thousands of years, it can at best be likened to the sum of things learned in Grade 1 Primary School. In comparison, that is, with what many are about to know — in the blink of an eye!

IU is an acronym for Instant Understanding. Not just of something but of everything! Nor by instruction but instead by divine revelation!

IU will soon be imparted to believers in God and Jesus through the coming Resurrection, when we who rise to meet our coming Lord “will know even as we are known”. The mortal bodies that we have lived in will become immortal, and all restrictions of mind and movement are in one moment removed. This resurrection, this physical change from mortal to immortal, is the major theme of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.

Instant Understanding (IU) will enable those who rise into everlasting life into unrestricted eternity to grasp the Meaning of Everything. IU will be built into minds made immortal. A bit much to get your mind around? Settle down and consider some amazing things that we know already.

Astronomers inform us that space and everything in it is ever-expanding. Light travels at about 300,000km per second, so, multiply this by the minute, the day, the hour and the year, and in Light Year terms we know for sure that humans in our present mortal state have no hope of catching up — much less of keeping pace with what’s already taking place in time and space.

But immortal humans will be wherever they are required to be when God is “all and in all” — instantly. This will be after the worldwide reign of Jesus concludes and he hands over his kingdom to his Father (1 Corinthians 15:28). Our knowledge will then far exceed that of AI because knowing even as we are known will make us immortal know-alls. Not some of us but all of us! And then but little compared to the Eternal God’s total knowledge.

Something to look forward to! What? You would choose to live in your sins for a brief lifetime on a soon to dissolve planet and one day die in them, rather than rule the world under Jesus for a thousand years, and then explore countless universes, knowing God as intimately as He knows everyone and everything? I find it hard to believe that any rational person could settle for AI when they could have and enjoy IU.

But then, I did not submit to Jesus until the age of 21; and Jesus taught that none of us can until the Spirit of God brings us to the point where we are able to respond. I did, thank God, and I have never looked back — too busy looking forward!

So, bottom line: soften your heart to God’s call and respond to the love of Jesus. What if He never does call? He is doing so right now, as you read. Why settle for AI and the like when you can be forgiven in the here and now, and sample IU through “the mind of Christ” (Ephesians 5:23) while looking forward to the then and there known as Eternity! All of the above is written not to blow your mind but to fill it with hope!
