Psalm 110:1 is the most quoted Old Testament verse in the New Testament. In 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, the Apostle Paul provides an overview of Christ’s reign from the time of his ascension to the time he submits himself and his kingdom to his Father. This will take place after God has put all his enemies “under his feet” (Ephesians 1:20-23).
The last enemy is death, which will be defeated by resurrection to immortality. The Father of Jesus has already given him “all authority in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18). His authoritative overrule was received from “the Ancient of Days”, a euphemism for Almighty God (Daniel 7:13, 14). Christ’s reign takes place “not only in this age, but also in the age which is to come.” In this age Jesus is the “head” (sole authority) over his body (the church), and through this working body he is able to put his enemies “under his feet”. A body is dysfunctional when it cannot or will not respond to instructions from the head.
But why is the total authority of our Lord Jesus not more apparent in our world? Jesus demonstrated the authority the Father had given to him “on earth” to forgive sins (Mark 5:24), so why not now his full authority in both heaven and earth? God the Creator has revealed Himself in natural laws (Romans 1:20). But although his attributes can be seen in Nature, He does not refer to Himself as Father Nature, because the Creator is greater than His Creation. Yet humans refer to natural laws as “Mother Nature”, and recognise Nature as being in charge rather than God.
This form of paganism deifies femininity. But it was God our Father who put in place the rules of nature (Malachi 2:10; Acts 14:15-17; and Acts 17:24). These laws were brought into an unnatural state of bondage when Adam, its head, sinned against God (Romans 8:18-22).
God subjects the natural laws of creation to His authority, when necessary by overriding them supernaturally (the super entering the natural). Jesus did this when he turned water into wine, when he walked on water, and when he stilled the storm. Jesus was the “image of the invisible God” and as such exercised his Father’s authority when and where necessary during his ministry.
Nature in its present state can be cruel and unfeeling. We see this in the consumption by creatures higher in “the food chain” of those lower in it, and in “the survival of the fittest”. Those who idolise Mother Nature as “earth Mother” or “Gaia” fear what ‘she’ might do if tampered with.
This is an important part of Green religion, and is why Greenies are essentially Stalinists. Stalinists termed this Dialectical Materialism, a doctrine that estimates the value of citizens in accordance with what they contribute to the State. Those deemed to be of no value are eliminated with as little thought as one would have when swatting flies. This is fascism, and it has murdered scores of millions of humans. This doctrine is intrinsic to Fascism. Individualism is eliminated as ruthlessly and as mercilessly as animals and birds that are higher on the food chain prey on those lower on the chain.
