“God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. “Nothing — no thing — in regard to God’s will is unclear. He has given us His will in writing in the prophecies and promises of the Bible.
There may be “a tide in the affairs of men,” but God’s promises are not tidal. They don’t ebb and flow or rise and fall but remain the same, and have been for thousands of years. The tides are predictable, as are God’s promises.
God never changes, and Jesus said “Those who have seen me have seen the Father.” They had seen the Father in the Son. Any change in the image of God would mean that God has changed. But Malachi 3:6 states “I am the LORD, I change not.”
God revealed Himself to His people as their Healing LORD (Exodus 15:26), which is why Jesus healed them. The God who never changes revealed Himself in Jesus, who is “the same yesterday and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus did the things his Father did and said his followers would do them.
Those who believe in Jesus are being transformed into the image of the Son who is the image of the Father (Ephesians 3:18). So those Christians who claim that God no longer heals and do not heal the sick in the name of Jesus, change the perceived image of Christ, who is the image of God. In so doing, they change the image of themselves! They deny 2 Corinthians 3:16, which states that we are being changed “from glory to glory” into the Lord’s image.
This image-change is why sick people are not being healed. But worse still, those who deny the healing power of Jesus Christ today through his church are changing the image of Jesus (not to mention their own image) and in so doing are denying his Father. I wouldn’t dare do that!
