“And when He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.” (Revelation 8:1) A heavenly hush. Strange, because there is no time in an eternal sphere or dimension. Much has been made of this half-hour silence, but I think more should be made of the cause of the hush. Heaven was silent because of the horrors that were about to take place. It’s as though heaven was holding its breath.
Two recent times with the Lord I’ve spent with the Lord have been almost void of the intense intercessory prayers and prophecies that filled my early morning prayer times for weeks. The wrestlings for an outcome that would glorify the Lord Jesus and bring relief to Christians ceased.
Why would these stop now, I thought — just days before January 20th, the date of President Trump’s Inauguration? Maybe others are feeling the same and they too are wondering why.
It’s not a matter of unbelief because speaking for myself, I have not pulled back one iota from my oft-stated belief on Facebook that God will give President Trump a second term in office. Nothing will or could convince me otherwise.
However, don’t hold your breath while waiting for politicians to do their constitutional duty or for an apparently paralyzed Supreme Court to decide on appropriate action. No, the present silence has nothing to do with the above and everything to do with Divine Justice.
I expect little or nothing from appointed or elected authorities but everything from Almighty God, who alone has the power to turn everything around. “Be not faithless but believing.”
Well, what took place thereafter is now history — or His Story. The political revolution which has been taking place since is unique in American History. Under President Trump’s team, issues have been addressed that have long been overlooked — state government and corporate crime among them.
Have those under President Trump the strength of purpose to finish what their Leader has started? Christians worldwide are among those who are waiting with bated breath…
