Is Your Life a Joke?

“So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, ‘Get up, get out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking.” (Genesis 19:14)

YOUR LIFE IS A JOKE IF, LIKE LOT:

1. You are torn between what you know is right and your desire to live with those who do what you know is wrong. (2 Peter 2:6-8)

2. You think that living among those who wilfully sin without speaking out will mean that they will accept you. (Genesis 19:9)

3. You assume that you can survive your separation from a man of destiny without his intercession for you. (Genesis 18:23)

4. You think that you have escaped God’s judgement on others without experiencing personal loss yourself. (Genesis 19:26)

5. You think that removing your loved ones from their past immoral culture and environment will mean that its influence will cease. (Genesis 19:30-38)

SIX THINGS LOT LOST:

1. He lost his direction. (Genesis 13:9-12)

2. He lost his peace. (2 Peter 2:6-8)

3. He lost the respect of his future sons-in-law. (Genesis 19:14)

4. He lost his wife. (Genesis 19:17-26)

5. He lost his dignity and self-respect. (Genesis 19:30-36)

6. He lost his link to God’s covenant. (Genesis 19:36-38)

IS YOUR LIFE A JOKE? IF SO, THEN STOP COMPROMISING YOUR INTEGRITY AND GET OUT OF THE SITUATION YOU ARE IN! THEN, AND ONLY THEN, WILL YOUR FAMILY TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY.
