Healing Really is the ‘Children’s Bread’

Jesus said that healing is the children’s bread and taught his followers to ask their Father in Heaven to “give us this day our daily bread.” Those who maintain that this bread is spiritual, not physical, miss the provision provided for them through Christ’s Atonement on the Cross.

Divine healing is as basic to Christian belief as it was to Jewish belief in the time of ancient Israel (Exodus 15:26; Psalm 103:3). One of the main pillars of Divine Healing is Christ’s Atonement, which was prophesied in the Servant Song of Isaiah chapter 53, verse 5. This prophecy is referred to in 1 Peter 2:24 as having been fulfilled in the sufferings of Jesus Christ.

The entire eighth chapter of Matthew clearly reveals that Divine Healing is physical, as well as spiritual. I find it amazing that some say that it might not be God’s will for everyone to be healed when doctors and surgeons do absolutely everything possible to keep sick people alive. The body itself fights hard to repel invading germs that can enter through infections.

If my minister were to tell me that it may not be God’s will for me to be healed, I would not just accept it but would seek a second opinion — from my doctor!
