The Man God Chooses

The man God chooses, and the man God refuses.

The qualities God saw in David that his big brother lacked.
(1 Samuel 16:7 & 1 Samuel 17)

The man God chooses accepts challenges as soon as he surveys the scene.
The man God refuses is intimidated by daily challenges.

The man God chooses demonstrates a faith that is based on past personal performance.
The man God refuses exhibits the mental and physical paralysis of the fearful majority.

The man God chooses secures the promise that success will be rewarded, and acts accordingly.
The man God refuses believes that success is uncertain, and remains inactive.

The man God chooses responds to criticism with logic that is based on a developing sense of destiny.
The man God refuses questions his brother’s motives, implies irresponsibility, and criticizes positive proposals.

The man God chooses crosses from the fear realm to the faith realm, risking all for victory and its rewards.
The man God refuses loses his opportunity to be the major player, and becomes just another spectator.

The man God chooses becomes one of history’s greatest heroes – a teenage, stone-slinging, giant killer.
The man God refuses is known only as the hero’s big brother.

The man God chooses grows into an anointed composer of victory songs – a praising, singing, dancing, priest-king.
The man God refuses accomplishes nothing memorable.

BE THE MAN GOD CHOOSES – NOT THE MAN HE REFUSES!
