You may refer to BCE (Before Current Era) and CE (Current Era), but I’ll continue to use BC (Before Christ) and AD (anno domini: “In the year of our Lord”). The point of BC and AD is that they mark the birth of the Saviour and the greatest ever change in world history.
Quite an accomplishment for a man from a small village in the hills of The Galilee. Rising from the dead brought the greatest ever fame to the greatest ever name! Then followed 1900-plus unforgettable years of personal change in the lives of countless people who in surrendering to the Lord Jesus found perfect peace in their hearts, endless power in their lives, and precious hope toward life through and beyond Time into Eternity.
Each of these three things is a deposit from God, who is preparing us for life beyond the reign of Jesus with Him and His Son doing things that Paul the Apostle was permitted to see but not allowed to reveal to the Church.
It’s all beyond awesome, beyond exclamation, and beyond human description! Maybe it’s why the inhabitants of Heaven praise God repetitively with expressions such as “Holy, Holy, Holy!” Might it be that more descriptive praises either do not exist or that God’s holy presence is beyond words?
