“If it feels good it must be right” they said back in the 1970s. But it wasn’t and the consequences are clearly visible to rational people.
Nowadays, the children of the deluded make crazy political and judicial decisions; tribunals have power once limited to courts, and bureaucrats seek to limit our freedoms through endless complex, nanny-state restrictions.
One thing only can save us from encroaching bondage and that is the renewal of Christianity, not as the religion as it’s now perceived but the way of life that it was back 2,000 years ago when it began.
We cannot go back in time to the 1st Century and drag the church that was into the 21st century; however, we can return to living the life that church had in the full authority of the Name of Jesus, which is ours as much as it was theirs and forever will be in the everlasting and unchanging power of the Holy Spirit.
Corporate Christianity? Or the organic church recorded by the first apostles in the New Testament? The Corporate kind is centralized; the organic kind an interactive local body. The branches of the Corporation are managed downward from Head Office through directives; whereas local churches are self-governed by elders in accordance with New Testament teachings and are responsive to Real Time messages received from the ascended Lord Jesus, who is the Head of the Church.
Radical? Maybe so in the way things are done today. But not as they were back in the days of the apostles and the early church. Let’s make the New Testament model our aim rather than make the Corporate church model our default setting.
According to the Law of Entropy, everything degrades in life, but not so in the LORD who changes not, and in the Lord Jesus, who is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. The children of upright church leaders have the biblical values of the organic church in their genes and the blessings of God in their lives. Not to mention their growth into the image of the Lord Jesus and their ministries through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
So, let’s “keep on keeping on” as we move ever Onward and Upward!
