“Do not remove the ancient landmarks set by your forefathers.” (Proverbs 22:28) So, who moved the biblical boundary stone on healing set by Jesus and his Apostles? Unbelievers, who review, revise, and reject truths set in place by God and seen in the Divine Healing ministries of such ministries as Smith Wigglesworth, Oral Roberts, John G Lake, and other memorable ministers; and in the ministry these days of of Mario Murillo and others.
“God works in mysterious ways”, they say, quoting the words of Cooper’s beloved hymn. But God works in miraculous ways,”…His wonders to perform” is better because it’s bible-based rather than devotional.
I detest revisions that are aimed at rewriting or postponing God’s concrete promises of Divine Healing and substituting shaky Ifs, Buts and Maybes, all based on the failures of some to receive healing through faith and God’s healing power working through the hands of church elders and those with spiritual gifts.
Those who prayed but did not receive healing themselves, so they limit it to “If it be God’s will” or deny it as “Not for Today!” Both views are based on the shaky ground that God is less willing to heal than medical doctors, or that Divine Healing ceased with the death of John, the last of the twelve apostles. When asked why a countless number of Christians have been healed over the past 2,000 years, they attribute it to God’s Sovereign Will.
My boundary markers on Healing were set by God in Exodus 15:26, Psalm 103:3 and Isaiah 53:5; and by the healing ministry of Jesus, who healed “all who were oppressed by the devil” (Acts 10:38). “All” included many non-Jews who desperately pushed through to him for healing regardless of the fact that they were not included in the Covenant.
In my teen years, while working on dairy farms, I knew every part of the property where I worked — every tree and every tuft of grass. I knew every rocky patch, every strainer-post, every possible danger, and, most of all, the boundary of each property.
When people say they don’t believe that God heals today, I tell them they’re talking to the wrong person. I’ve seen hundreds healed — many of them right on the spot. I redirect such doubters or unbelievers to a church that has no biblical boundary, no scriptural markers, and so no idea of how precious God promises are to true believers. Not just precious but certain!
If you are looking for a trustworthy boundary marker, buy a Bible and ask the Lord to direct you where to begin reading. The New Testament Gospel of Mark is reader-friendly, in that it was written for non-Jewish readers (who were “outsiders” to the Covenant the LORD made with Abraham.
God gave 7,000 or so promises through Old Testament prophets and New Testament apostles — and demonstrated His will to heal through Jesus himself. So, for those who refuse to believe what the Bible makes so very clear, I say, stop trying to limit or otherwise interfere with the biblical boundaries of the Bible and stop moving and removing its precious promises! Either leave them alone so that those who have faith to claim them can be healed — or confess your unbelief and get off the Property!
