Properly defined, Renewable Energy is the ability of a thing to renew itself instead of having to be renewed by an outside source. No natural power possesses this intrinsic ability. Neither do humans possess the ability to renew themselves endlessly. We can extend our lifespan and boost our energy, but eventually both run out.
However, God’s life and energy never do and the eternal, unfailing power of His indwelling Spirit continues unabated until the life of the body ceases and the spirit of each person leaves the lifeless mortal body. The Hope of Israel and the Great Hope of the church is the long hoped-for return of the human spirit into the body. In his resurrection, the mortal body of Jesus became immortal and he pioneered the way for all those who believe to follow him.
All things in life run down: it’s the Law of Entropy. But this law does not of course apply to God, who is the Eternal. Humanity has tried but failed to discover a long sought after Law of Perpetual Motion; that through amazing discoveries, the human lifespan will extend to a point where it will never end.
What will Eternity be like? Only the resurrected immortal Lord Jesus Christ knows that as yet. But what we call supernatural will then be the natural order. Most of us have difficulty in grasping Einstein’s time-bending Theory of Relativity, with Black Holes, and with other,
equally mind-bending concepts!
Eternity is timeless, so Time Travel will be so 21st Century! So too will Elon Musk’s proposed rocket journeys to Mars. (“It’s been years — are we there yet?”) In the “new heavens and earth” immortal humans may arrive as they leave! You doubt that? Back in the 20th century, humans moved from 30 mph on land to 17,000 mph in space. Do you not think that Almighty God can do better than that?
Get right with God through Jesus if you would like to know more. But to find out, you’ll need to journey 2,000 years back in your heart to the Cross, on which Jesus died for your sins and surrender your life to him forever. Don’t worry, you can get there by faith very quickly. A short, heartfelt prayer will result in you being forgiven by God and saved — made safe — ready for your life journey through this life and beyond into Eternity in a new body — an immortal one!
